I have been studying ceramics since
1997 after realizing my passion for clay. It is a material
that allows me to express myself creatively and reveal my
talent as an artist.
I am skilled in hand building techniques, making glazes, glaze
application and making plaster moulds for interesting surface
textures. I also developed a series of press moulds for handmade
tiles. I fire my own kilns at a wide range of temperatures.
As well as firing electric kilns, I have used gas kilns for
reduction techniques, raku and sawdust firing. In Hawaii I
made 300 tiles for a client's kitchen.
I have recently completed a large scale mural and small scale
replica for the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, called "Natures
Womb", made out of porcelain clay. These can be viewed
in the Restaurant and the Coffee Shop.
